The shower stool offers persons with impaired standing ability the possibility to sit in shower facilities.

This product has a seat mounted on four legs. The stool legs have slip-resistant leg tips. The seat may be made of either rigid material and/or may be padded. The seat surface is designed to allow water to quickly run off so that it does not accumulate. The seat area can be equipped with a larger cut-out or opening that makes the buttocks and genital areas more accessible. Shower stools also may be equipped with armrests, which make getting up and sitting down easier.

Indication
Difficulty in standing up or to remain standing when there is limited use / or missing functional capability of the lower extremities, or other illnesses that restrict the patient’s ability to stand (e.g. loss of strength caused by malignant diseases, chronic advanced cardio-pulmonary diseases) combined with weakness of the torso, where independent use of shower facilities while sitting is still possible.
